"F1" is the title given for the first cross-generation of a Poodle and a Golden retriever. The "F1" Goldendoodle is considered 50% poodle and 50% golden retriever. They are typically low to moderate shedding and are better for homes with only slight/moderate allergies.
"F1b" Goldendoodle is the result of a cross between an F1 doodle and a poodle. This combination makes the resulting Goldendoodle pup 75% poodle and only 25% retriever. This origin of the Goldendoodle is virtually nonshedding making them very allergy-friendly. The "F1b" Goldendoodle shows a greater variety of coat types, from long and wavy to short and curly. Families with moderate to severe allergies to dogs will find the "F1b" a great option for them.
"F1bb" Goldendoodle is a cross between an "F1b" (second generation Goldendoodle) and a Poodle. The resulting pup is then considered 85% Poodle and 15% Golden Retriever. F1BB Goldendoodles have the highest success rate for non-shedding and are recommended for families with severe allergies. The F1BB Goldendoodles tend to have beautiful loose wavy to curly plush coats.
The Golden Retriever is a sturdy, medium size breed, famous for the dense, lustrous coat of gold that gives the breed its name. It is one of America’s most popular dog breeds. Golden Retrievers are very friendly, gentle, intelligent and reliable dogs. They tend to shed their heavy double coat once to twice a year and also shed more moderately on a continuous basis. Brushing once or twice a week will remove much of the dead hair.
